Aftercare

Proper aftercare is required to insure that your new tattoo heals well. Please follow these directions closely.

  1. Leave the bandage on overnight.
  2. In the morning, remove the bandage and wash with warm water and antibacterial soap using only your hands. Wash off all the dried blood and ointment. Do not use any type of washcloth or scrubbing device.
  3. Pat the tattoo dry with a non-lint type of fabric or paper towel.
  4. Repeat washing every 3-4 hours for the first 48 hours. This is the most critical part of ensuring your tattoo does not scab up.
  5. After 48 hours reduce washing to 3 times a day.
  6. After 5 days, you may begin applying lotion to the tattoo. Use the smallest amount necessary to cover the tattoo. Do not over moisturize the tattoo.
  • Do not touch the tattoo unless you are washing it.
  • Do not recover the tattoo after removing the bandage that your artist applied.
  • Do not put any ointments on the tattoo.
  • Do not soak the tattoo in any bodies of water until it has completely peeled.
  • Avoid stretching the skin where the tattoo has been applied.
  • Avoid contact between the tattoo and any animals
  • Avoid any activities that will cause sweating in the area of the tattoo.
  • Avoid restrictive clothing in the area of the tattoo.
  • Avoid exposing the tattoo to direct sunlight.
